Original Crogan Adventures Art/Pages

To help pay the bills, afford reference books and art supplies, and show the missus that the hours spent in my studio are financially worthwhile, I supplement my income by selling the original art that is reprinted and published in the Crogan Adventures books. Each of these pages is hand-drawn and lettered with black ink over colored pencil, and is noticeably bigger than print size - each piece of paper is 11"x17," with the drawing area about 10"x15."




Why might you want to own a piece of original comic art? There are a number of reasons. Maybe you want to be a comic artist yourself, or already are one. Looking at an original gives you a great sense of how an artist actually drew it, what tools he or she used, where he or she messed up and how it was fixed. I collect originals by artists that I like for this reason; they can be an invaluable learning tool. Maybe you're a big fan of the books, and want something that went into their making hanging up in your home, as a conversation starter and a trophy of sorts. Maybe you want it as an investment. Some comic art fetches high prices as the series they started becomes more an more popular. I wouldn't advise you to buy mine with this as your motive, as there's no way to guarantee the popularity of the series, but I do promise to continue working hard to make it as good as I possibly can.

• A note on differences between the first printing and all subsequent printings of Crogan's Vengeance
Due to the exclusion of the "Acknowledgements" section and other factors, the page numbering is different on the first printing than on all subsequent printings. How can you tell? It's easy! Look on the dedication page, near the front of the book. If the drawing of Catfoot Crogan from the cover is there, then you've got the FIRST printing. If instead you have a drawing of some buildings on the waterfront, then you have one of the later printings. Please make sure you mention which printing you are referencing when asking for a page.
