Master and Commander

I've only read the first four Aubrey/Maturin novels, but they're pretty darn good. I'll read the rest eventually, by which I mean as soon as my schedule permits.

I love the drawing! What did you think of the Master and Commander film, Chris?

Thanks, Keenan! I really enjoyed the film - it's what made me want to pick up the books in the first place. I think that the film had the most realistic ship battle scenes ever filmed, and gave a really good sense of the period.

If you haven't seen the Horatio Hornblower series that was made by A&E back before they did reality shows, you might enjoy it. The first one is a little slow, but after that it's really something.

Master and Commander - there is no way I can do justice in explaining how much I loved that rip-roaring film! Wonderful, and breathtaking.

I have literally been praying for a sequel to the film, and we might just finally get it sometime soon:

In Early 2012, 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios have both expressed thoughts for a possible sequel to be released in 2014.

This is pretty astounding news; though I know not to get my hopes up too high, for disappointment is probably pretty high on the scale!

Its the first we've heard about a sequel for M & C for a few years now; so maybe this is the time when it finally gets picked up?

- And again, like you said for the Horatio Hornblower series, Chris; it really WAS something, and I know for a fact that British TV will never be like that again!
